Steps to Log in to the App Store with a Shared Apple ID
In everyday use, due to the need to download apps from specific regions, users may need to switch to different Apple IDs to log in to the App Store. Compared to earlier iOS versions, current system updates have made this operation logic more complex, and a slight oversight can lead to a repeated login loop.
This article will detail the correct steps for switching Apple IDs in the App Store, ensuring you successfully complete the account change.
I. Log Out of the Current Apple ID from the App Store
- Tap the "App Store" icon on your device's home screen to enter the app store.
- Tap the "User Profile" icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
- On the pop-up account interface, scroll to the bottom, find and tap the "Sign Out" option.

II. Switch to a New Apple ID for Login
After successfully logging out of the current account, you will see a login prompt.
- Click the "Sign In with Apple ID" button.
- At this point, the system may pop up a window asking, "Set up Media & Purchases with XXX?" Please note, this is a critical step where many users make mistakes.
- To log in with a new Apple ID, you must select "Not XXX". If you choose "XXX," the system will direct you back to the previous account.
- Subsequently, in the new interface that appears, accurately enter the Apple ID information you wish to log in with, and click the "Continue" button to complete the login process.

III. Bypass Two-Factor Authentication

IV. Important Notes
- Prohibited from logging in settings: Shared accounts should only be used to log in within the "App Store" and absolutely never within the iCloud section of iOS device settings.
- Avoid enabling two-factor authentication: During the process of logging into a shared App Store account, if the system prompts you to enable two-factor authentication, be sure to click "Other Options" below the prompt, then select "Don't Upgrade" to skip this step.
- Log out promptly: After successfully downloading the required application, be sure to immediately log out of the shared account from the App Store. In fact, once the application begins downloading, you can click to log out without waiting for the download to complete.
- Do not bind personal information: After logging into a shared account, never attempt to bind any personal information, especially payment methods, contact information, or other sensitive personal data.
- Regarding app updates: For applications previously downloaded with a shared account, to update them, you typically need to first uninstall the app and then re-download it with the same shared account used for the original download. Otherwise, the system may prompt that the account has been disabled. This is because Apple's system requires that app downloads and updates must be completed by the same Apple ID.
